Genevieve Jordan is a self taught artist who paints and writes from her art studio in Scotts Valley CA. Fueled by trips to the ocean and the redwood forests nearby, her message is one of kindness through collaboration. Genevieve always felt she had a purpose that would be expressed creatively. It was the searching to find her voice that brought her to combine art and word visioning. It is this connection to the unseen that has always fueled her imagination. Desperate to fit in but suspecting she was broken and unloveable, she lived a youth full of big dreams. Her failed attempts at love became successes with the birth of each of her three sons. In her art she creates dreamlike worlds born from suggestive lines found in textures and rhythmic word combinations. She paints what is not yet seen. Her images are formed out of random shapes in a story like manner in which the paper speaks of what is lying underneath. Through her art she is trying to figure out the world on her own terms. During the pandemic Genevieve enrolled in the ArtSchool, master coaching for creative women. Her coach and mentor Leah Campbell Badertscher told her “You can never fully accomplish your dreams if you don’t first learn to love yourself.” This both frightened her and felt impossible. But it was the turning point. She took this to heart painting over 300 works while binge watching everything she could find about artists and art on YouTube. This self-taught artist has found her voice.
